Zheng Gu Tui Na: Tradition and Innovation in Chinese Medicine

Zheng Gu Tui Na was established in 1997 by Tom Bisio and Frank Butler, merging decades of experience in traditional Chinese Orthopedics and traumatic injury treatment gained through classical apprenticeships.

The initiative was propelled by student demand, leading to the development of a specialized product line in collaboration with Kamwo Herbal Pharmacy, making high-quality traditional remedies readily accessible. These products are crafted following age-old methods to ensure peak efficacy and safety, supporting daily clinical use and home applications alike.

ZGTN About Founders

Tom Bisio, a pivotal figure in martial arts and Chinese medicine since 1979, has significantly influenced the fields of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine through his extensive practice and teaching. His leadership at a renowned clinic in New York City from 1990 to 2015, specializing in trauma, Chinese sports medicine, and orthopedic conditions, became a cornerstone for advancing these practices in the West. Bisio's dedication to education and healing led to the development of Zang Fu Tui Na, a specialized technique for adjusting internal organs, showcasing his innovative contributions to manual therapy. Furthermore, his partnership with Kamwo Meridian Herbs to create a specific product line for sports injuries reflects his commitment to making traditional Chinese medicinal solutions more accessible.

Dr. Frank Butler, DACM, began studying Chinese medicine in 1990 and completed a rigorous seven-year apprenticeship with the famed Ken Ark Fun Gong. He further honed his expertise under some of the 20th century's most notable Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) masters, covering a wide array of specialties from internal medicine to medical massage and acupuncture. As a respected leader and international educator, Dr. Butler's practice extends globally and continuously in Manhattan, treating a diverse range of conditions from orthopedic to complex chronic disorders. His medical proficiency is complemented by his skills in martial arts and meditation, contributing to his broad recognition in media outlets such as Cosmopolitan, Vogue, NPR, Extra, and Fox News
