Dr. Carl S. Leung
NCCAOM Herbalist
Founder of Kamwo Herbs

The Leung family's passion for healing flows through the meridians of their lineage. For generations, the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been passed down from father to son, with each succeeding generation expanding on the knowledge of Eastern science. Dr. Shan Leung, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who established a Chinese Medical lineage during the late Qing Dynasty, received tutelage from his father, Huidao Leung, a renowned Chinese Medicine Doctor in Hong Kong.

Upon his arrival in the United States, Dr. Shan Leung founded Kamwo Herbs and diligently worked to transform it into one of the largest and most esteemed providers of Chinese medicine and herbs.

With over 50 years of experience in the practice of Chinese herbs, Dr. Leung has authored two influential books: "Guide to Healthy Living for the Chinese in North America" and "The Potent Man’s Guide to Chinese Herbs, Food, and Drink." Additionally, his extensive clinical expertise in dermatology, spanning several decades, has led to the development of highly sought-after and effective skin care products.

Dr. Leung holds esteemed positions in the field, serving as the chairman of the Association of Chinese Herbalists and as a member of the Council Board. His contributions and reputation solidify him as a highly respected expert in the treatment of skin diseases within the realm of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Thomas N. Leung
Pharm BS., DACM, L.Ac
CEO of Kamwo Herbs

Dr. Thomas Leung has taken his father's vision of making high-quality Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) accessible to all and elevated it even further. As a trained pharmacist and doctor of TCM, Dr. Leung combines his knowledge of Western pharmaceutical practices with the ancient healing arts, setting a new standard in TCM dispensaries.

In a lighthearted manner, Dr. Leung acknowledges the saying that a shoemaker's son makes shoes, and in his case, it rings true. His understanding of both pharmaceutical and traditional treatments allows him to skillfully navigate and integrate each system with purpose, ensuring that clients at Kamwo can shop with confidence.

Dr. Leung holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College Health Sciences. Being a fourth-generation TCM practitioner, he has been immersed in the field since his childhood. Dr. Leung has been a professor at Pacific College of Health Sciences since 2002 and is a member of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. He is widely recognized as a master of his craft and regarded as a national expert in Traditional Chinese Medicine, gaining exposure through media outlets such as CNN, the New York Times, and various digital platforms.

Ria found her way to Chinese Medicine through a debilitating back injury that immediately resolved with acupuncture. Later on, Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture had a profound role that helped her gain better health and a quality of life after years of chronic pain and illness that could not be resolved by surgeries and various other therapies. Fueled by this transformative experience, Ria resolved to devote her life helping others through Chinese medicine, working collaboratively with patients in their path to healing and to help them achieve their health goals.

Ria is a licensed acupuncturist, receiving a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Health Sciences (formerly Pacific College of Oriental Medicine) where she immersed herself in a full-time four year graduate program. Her clinical interests include Women's Health (supporting women through all phases of life), pain relief, and management of chronic conditions. In addition, her training includes the recent completion of a year-long comprehensive mentorship in Women's Health with Sharon Weizenbaum, L.Ac., Dr. Caroline Radice, and Suzanne Connole, L.Ac. of the White Pine Institute. Since 2019, Ria has studied the treatment of chronic illness with Ann Cecil-Sterman, L.Ac. and Cody Dodo, L. Ac. under the lineage of 88th generation Daoist priest Jeffrey Yuen. While at Pacific College in addition to regular clinic internships, she completed clinical rotations at OnPoint, the largest harm reduction center in the east coast, and Kamwo's Grand Meridian Clinic where she has served diverse communities.
