Fire-Needle Moxibustion for the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis: A Meta-Analysis

At present, filiform-needle acupuncture and warm-needle moxibustion have been confirmed as effective treatments of KOA [16, 17]. Several randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have proved that fire-needle moxibustion could relieve pain and improve the prognosis of KOA. However, the efficacy of fire-needle moxibustion has not been systematically assessed [18]. Therefore, we undertook a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the current evidence for the effect and safety of fire-needle moxibustion in treating OA.
